Military College of Medical Sciences is an institution which is owned by Tanzania Peoples’ Defence Forces (TPDF) under the Ministry of Defence and National Service. It is a professional College established by the TPDF to conduct training of health care cadre to support the military forces, their families and Civilian at large during war and peace time.
Military College of Medical Science (MCMS) was re-established on 23 Feb 2015 by Hon Minister for Defence and National Service. MCMS is a sole health institution mandated to offer health training courses for military personnel and Civilian students are allowed to apply and study at the College.
The new MCMS was renovated and equipped by our fellow friend the Federal Republic of Germany through the program for equipment support to developing countries and was officially handed over to the Minister of Defence and National Service Hon Dr. Hussein Ali Hassan Mwinyi, (MP) on 29 September 2015 by His Excellence Egon Kochanke, the Germany Ambassador to Tanzania
The college enrolls both civilian and military students for the diploma courses. The military studies are exclusively for military personnel only
The college has a full NACTE Registration with Registration Number REG/HAS/061
